Self-Love



"Don't forget to fall in love with yourself first."


This post is for YOU & about YOU. If you are reading this, it's because you chose to invest in yourself, back yourself, push yourself, improve yourself and ultimately love yourself inside and out! This movement program is for YOU. It was created for you, to inspire you, to motivate you and to let you know that who YOU are and what you do with your life actually matters.


We all have vastly different challenges, opportunities, hopes and dreams. But I think we all have the same basic values- to find purpose, fulfillment and the satisfaction that our lives are as good as they possibly can be. I've created move-ment to inspire you to live your best life, and to continue living your life with passion, confidence, positivity and more love than you could have ever imagined.


We need to FIND the time to practice self-love so that we can reconnect with ourselves and live a life that truly shines; a life where we keep growing, learning and feeling good about ourselves a little more every day.


Here are my favorite ways to practice a little self-love.


1. Learn to put yourself first... even if this means not being totally available.

Decide that sometimes, staying in, baking cookies, drinking wine, binge a Netflix series is going to nourish your life more than going to that busy bar or that party with friends.


2. Be yourself.... without seeking the approval of others.

Dye your hair pink, wear a different color polish on each nail, get a tattoo, decide to take a year off work and travel, go see a movie by yourself, dance in the living room and enroll in a masters program. Don't seek permission to be yourself, simply give yourself permission to do so. If you want to stand out in a crowd, give people a reason not to forget you.


3. Accept yourself for who you are... the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Decide what you like about yourself. Celebrate it. Learn to accentuate your favorite characteristics and play down the not-so-shiny ones (we all have them).


4. Own your beauty inside and out... even when you roll out of bed, stay in your comfy cozies all day or you're super sweaty after a workout.

Own it and love yourself for who you are.


5. Nurture your body..

Give your body the nurturing rest, exercise and fuel it needs to perform at its best. Active bodies need rest to recover just as much as they need more exercise to stay energetic. Find your balance and do what's right for YOU.


6. Make time to do what you enjoy without worrying about wasting time.

If you enjoy a day on the couch-- have a day on the couch. It's not a waste of time if you find enjoyment in it and it's not like you to do it every day.


7. Speak your truth... don't swallow words that express how you truly feel.

Choose to find a nice way to say what you think, even if it's harder than telling a lie. Speaking your truth may seem more difficult at the time, but it's always the right thing to do.


8. Learn to set boundaries... especially for protecting and nurturing your relationships and 'fitness' appointments.

Spend time with the people that you love and remember that the relationships and appointments you have with yourself are the most important. 'Me time' is not something you should ever feel guilty about.


9. Love and accept yourself even when you fail miserably.

If you didn't get that job, run your best time in a race, came in last in a competition, didn't pass that test, forgot something really important... it's okay. We've all had those trials and tribulations. What's important is that it's all over, you still love yourself. You live and you learn from them and move on!


Ultimately, this is about feeling fit, strong & ALIVE. It's about turning your back on negativity & starting fresh with oozing confidence. It's about radiance, positivity, & about abundance of good old-fashioned ENERGY. It's about adopting an "anything is possible" attitude & becoming who you were always meant to be- beautiful, vibrant & totally UNSTOPPABLE. It's about learning to LOVE YOURSELF. It's about YOU.
